Bus connection with the surroundings

  • direction to Janské Lázně, Vrchlabí and Špindlerův Mlýn – from the stop at the hotel PROM, 300 meters far from the apartments
  • direction to Pec pod Sněžkou, Malá Úpa and Pomezní bouda – from the stop opposite the supermarket JIP, 200 meters far from the apartments

In the period from June 2, 2012 to September 30, 2012 the cyklobus can be used on the route: Pec pod Sněžkou – Svoboda nad Úpou – Harrachov, from the stop opposite the supermarket JIP, and on the route Janske Lázně – Černá Hora – Pec pod Sněžkou, from the bus stop at hotel PROM.

In the winter and summer season it is possible to buy ticket valid for the bus and also the lift. Tickets are available at the Černá Hora lift station and can be used for example the following way: lift to Černá Hora, walk to Pec pod Sněžkou and by bus back to the apartment (or vice versa).

Hikes

Round trip to Janské lázně

By lift up and then through the Hofmanovy boudy, Večerní červánky, Mariánum, Vesna, Kolonáda, Lesní Dům, Večernice, Modrokamenná bouda and down to the apartment.

From Černá Hora

  1. To Janské lázně over Zineckerova bouda, Hofmanovy boudy, Černá bouda and Pardubické boudy
  2. To Velká Úpa over Černá bouda, Kolínská bouda, Kladenská bouda and Červenokostelec­ká bouda
  3. To Pec pod Sněžkou over Černá bouda, Kolínská bouda and Pražská bouda, and from here more options available:
  • Husova bouda, Žižkova bouda
  • Lyžařská bouda, Hnědý vrch and down by lift or walk
  • Lyžařská bouda, Liščí hora, Rozcestí, Výrovka, Richtrovy boudy
  • to Výrovka to Luční bouda and Obří důl
  • of Luční boudy over Sněžka and Růžová hora

From Růžová hora you can continue through Portášky to Velká or Malá Úpa.

From Pomezní bouda, Malá Úpa

  1. Walk all the way back to the apartments around the church in Malá Úpa, Lysečinské boudy, Albeřice valley through Albeřice to Horní Maršov and Svobody nad Úpou.
  2. Around the church in Malá Úpa to Spálený Mlýn, over bouda Jana to Velká Úpa, or you can continue from bouda Jana to Portášky and Velká Úpa or continue from Portášek through Růžohorky to Pec pod Sněžkou or up to Sněžka…
  3. Over bouda Jelení louka to Sněžka and then to Pec pod Sněžkou or Janské lázně, Velká Úpa etc.

From Pec pod Sněžkou

Obří Důl – a nice walk along the Obří potok to důl Kovárna and back, or you can continue up Sněžka direction.

Modrý Důl – also a beautiful location with opportunities to continue up to hill, on the old road along the Úpa river to Velká Úpa and further continue to Malá Úpa or Černá hora and to Jánské lázně.

By lift or walk to Růžová hora and Sněžka or by lift/walk to Hnědý vrch, now use one of the routes described above.

Near surroundings by car – within about 100 km distance

When the weather in the mountains is bad, guest can visit several tourist and other interesting locations of the Královehradec­ký kraj.

Dvůr Králové nad Labem – zoo and safari

Kuks – castle with statues and Bethlehem by Matyáš Braun

Česká Skalice and Ratibořice (region of Božena Němcová) – castle, Staré bělidlo, weir, museum, school, dam Rozkoš – swimming, fishing, sailing

Náchod – castle, fortress Dobrošov, border crossing to Poland – Spa Kudowa Zdroj, famous markets

Hronov – Region of Alois Jirásek, birthplace, theater, international theater festivals in July

Adršpach – rock city, sandstone pinnacles on the total area of 30 km2, romantic lake, rocks for climbing

Jaroměř – Josefov, complex of fortresses in the area of 289 ha, museum

Poland

Through Pomezní boudy (only in the summer, in the winter the road is not maintained) you can visit Poland:

  • picturesque foothill town Karpacz directly under Sněžka – it's way out to Krkonoše on the Polish side
  • Jelenia Góra – District foothill town similar to Trutnov – historic center, declared trgowisko (marketplace)

To see Krkonoše from the Polish side is quite different from the Czech side, Krkonoše stand out from the Polish plane and are steeper.
